About the stone: Ruby Zoisite is a two-colour speciality that conceals vivid red ruby growing into a rich green zoisite matrix. It is mined at two deposits in Tanzania – both of which are now largely exhausted, which is why the price of quality raw material continues to rise. In terms of composition, ruby is the gemstone variety of corundum – aluminium oxide. Zoisite is a calcium aluminium silicate, closely related to epidote.
