About the stone: Labradorite is a colourless, or grey-white to blue-grey stone with a fascinating colour change when rotated, known as labradorescence – looking at it will instantly remind you of a peacock's vivid, iridescent feathers. It takes its name from the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, where it was discovered in the 18th century. In Europe it can be found in Finland, but Madagascar is currently considered the main source of both raw and processed labradorite. In terms of composition, it is a type of sodium-calcium feldspar known as plagioclase.
