Stone description: A stone famous for its yellow, yellow-brown to golden colouring, additionally accompanied by a silky lustre. Thanks to its impressive appearance, it is used to make exclusive figurines and jewellery. Its occurrence is limited to only a few locations worldwide, the most famous being the deposit in the Doorn Mountains in South Africa. In terms of composition, it is quartz permeated by parallel fibres of so-called crocidolite asbestos.
