Stone description: Labradorite is a colourless, or grey-white to blue-grey stone with a fascinating play of colours when turned, the so-called iridescence  - when looking at it, you will surely be reminded of the colourful feathers of peacocks. It was named after the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, where it was discovered in the 18th century. In Europe, it can also be found for example in Finland, however Madagascar is currently considered the main source of both rough and cut labradorite. In terms of composition, it is a type of sodium-calcium feldspar plagioclase.
