Stone description: Kunzite is a pink to pale violet mineral that got its name from the American mineralogist G. F. Kunz. What is interesting about kunzite is the so-called pleochroism. This means that you can observe three different shades in one stone when looking at it from different directions. It is cut in a way that highlights the most saturated colour. In terms of composition, it is a gemstone variety of the mineral spodumene.
