Stone description: Topaz is one of the longest known gemstones. Legend says that shipwrecked pirates found it on the island of Cytis in the Red Sea. Hence the name, because in Arabic topazas means “they searched and found”. It can be clear, yellow, yellow-red, light blue, greenish or pink, and it always has a glassy lustre. It can be found in Brazil, Madagascar, Kenya and Namibia. In terms of composition, it is an aluminium silicate containing fluorine.
