Stone description: A mineral named after deposits in the Amazon River basin. Amazonite can display emerald green to blue-green tones. Unfortunately, today only a very small portion still boasts deep green colours. The raw material comes from mines in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. In terms of composition, it is a rare green variety of the potassium feldspar microcline, containing a small amount of rubidium oxide.
