Stone description: A rare mineral known for its vivid green colour is popular all over the world and has been known since antiquity. At that time, Cleopatra’s emeralds from mines in Upper Egypt were especially famous. This gemstone reached Europe thanks to the Spanish conquerors of South America. The raw material comes from Brazil. In terms of composition, it is a variety of the mineral beryl (a silicate of aluminium and beryllium).
