It is semi-transparent to translucent, and its typical pink shade is caused by impurities of manganese oxides. The main deposits are found in Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa and Namibia. Rose quartz is an excellent raw material for jewellery making – thanks to its gentle pink shades, it is very popular among jewellers and collectors.
