Stone description: A fairly common mineral that, chemically, is a silicate of aluminium and calcium. The origin of prehnite dates to 1788, when it was discovered (and later named) in the South African republic by Colonel H. von Prehn. The offered stone comes from South Africa. A glowing light green colour with a glassy lustre – that is the main characteristic of prehnite from this African deposit.
