Under certain conditions – changes in acidity, the partial pressure of oxygen, carbon dioxide content or the concentration of hydrothermal solutions – other minerals can form inside the quartz mass. These enclosed minerals are called inclusions. The offered variety contains tourmaline. Quartz containing tourmaline occurs in deposits with a high boron content. It is usually black tourmaline or brown dravite.
