Stone description: Aventurine can appear in various colours from red and yellow to green and brown. Brazilian pieces stand out with a green shade caused by an admixture of fine flakes of chromium mica, fuchsite. In addition to its impressive colouring, it also boasts a high lustre and a delicate sparkle caused by dispersed flakes of mica or hematite. In terms of composition, it is a variety of fine-grained quartz.
